[Gpdd] HEALTH Quarantine

Evin,

I always quarantine new arrivals here at Piggyfriends. I am lucky enough to be able to put a cage in one of the rooms that has not been taken over by piggies.

I always think that one cannot be too careful when it comes to spreading possible illnesses ( to the point of paranoia ) so, if they have come from an unknown source, I keep them apart from my herd for 4 weeks. Someone turning up on the doorstep asking if I can take the pig that they have in the box that they are carrying could be a potential health hazard so I am always aware of this when I say "Of course I can".

If they come from my Rodentologists or one of their friends who rescue piggies, quite often they have done their quarantine there so I can introduce them straight away.

I know that skinny pigs can have their own health problems so I think that I would keep the cages as far away as possible. Kacee's suggestion of putting a cage in your bedroom seems like a great idea if this is feasible.

Better safe than sorry.

Well done for adopting that little boy. Do let us all know how you get on.

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
