Debbie and the sad Dolly Mixtures, we had so hoped that Scrabble would recover from his bumblefoot, and we are so very sad that he has passed on to the Bridge. We are sure that you did the right thing in helping him there; it does sound as though his foot had developed cancer. We are so sorry that the vet didn't know about euthanizing piggies, and our hearts go out to you. Please have no doubt, though, that Scrabble did indeed know that you were with him as he slipped away. We hope that all of your happy memories of him will soon ease the sadness of his final moments. You gave him excellent care, all the time, and we hope you won't feel that you caused any problems as you tried to help his bumblefoot. All we can do is our best with what we know at the time. Believe, us, he felt your love and concern. Thank you for sharing some of your memories of him, such as how he came to live with you and how he and Fidget came back to you after they were adopted out. Obviously he was meant to be with you, in your loving family. How sweet, too, that he enjoyed the sun so much; that is evident in his photo on the SCAMPS page -- such a lovely coat he had. No, we don't think his last time in the sun eating grass caused his diarrhea; we think it was probably, sadly, his time to go. We are glad that he was in your arms when he left, and we are sure he is now happily playing with Fidget and Zebra and many other friends, old and new. Please accept our condolences on his loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all sick piggies and their families.
Sadly,
Cindy, Tumbleweed, and Friday
