Good morning everyone ;)
I posted like a super long time ago about my cavy, Peanut. I took him to the vet about his teeth being crooked for regular teeth trims and had been painstakingly(sp) hand feeding him veggie smoothies with a syringe (without the needle) for a few months.
He is doing a world better! I am so happy! He can eat lettuce (but it takes him a long time to) and he can even eat carrots! I've been holding him and letting him eat by himself and I don't feel bad about sticking that stupid syringe in his mouth anymore.
Well anyways.. it turns out that he has a over bite and will be crippled forever... :( We got him from the humane society, he had a weird ring around his bottom teeth (which were the ones that we had the most problems with.) Our vet took it off and trimmed his teeth and ever since then he has been way better. He now weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces (their is room for improvement) but that is way better then when we first got him. He just had his first birthday a few days ago.
Okay, I just wanted to put this up because one question has been boggling my mind for a long time... What was the ring on his teeth? Does anyone have any ideas?
The only information I have about the ring was that it was a yucky yellow color, it was about 1/8 of an inch wide and it was way down by his gums.
Thanks for letting me ramble on!

(If I hadn't got him he was going to become a classroom cavy with his sister and probably would have bred to create more crooked teethed cavies that would not have lasted very long without starving!)
~Where would Peanut be without me? :D~
About the classroom cavy thing, I cant really help im sorry. All through school I have had cavies in my classroom and thought nothing of it. It was only when I got older and I met one of my teachers that has a cavy sanctuary and I helped him with that. (he taught me everything I know, and is always their if I need help :))
