Dear Corinne

I am deeply saddened to read of your loss.  You obviously totally and utterly adored your little Peppermint.  Reading your post was heartbreaking, and I don't know what to say to console you.   There's nothing that can console you really is there?  When we lose our "soul mates", nothing anyone says or does can help.   Only with the passage of time will you eventually find peace, be it might be a long time before that peace can enter your heart.    12 months after losing two of my beloved piggies, I still have not found peace, but it is coming, very slowly.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you definitely didn't kill your little one.  You did your absolute utmost to help her, to comfort her, to save her.    I think God knew she was in terrible pain, and didn't want to prolong her suffering, so he took her quickly from you.    Try to find comfort, knowing that her suffering was short.   It would have been awful to watch her leave you slowly.  She is at the Rainbow Bridge now, in peace and enjoying frolicking with so very many of her piggy friends, and she is waiting for you to one day join her.     She will not want you to be hurting yourself more by blaming yourself.   If the vets couldn't save her (and they didn't know what was wrong with her), how could you possibly have saved her?        

The best you could have done was exactly what you did.   You loved her, you talked to her, you comforted her, and you were with her for her last breath.     That is a very special "bond" that you and she will share forever.   You were with your little one and she was with her beloved mummy when she was called to peace.    That was a very special moment for you both, a memory to be cherished.

I pray that you and Michael find some peace and comfort as time goes by, knowing your dearest Peppermint is happy at the Bridge, and will never be in pain again.      She will be forever with you in your heart & soul, and nothing and no-one can take away from the love you shared with your little angel.
