Just to add our two cents’ worth – I’d heard somewhere long ago
that the strings in celery might cause problems, I guess if they’re
not chewed properly. So I always do as my mother did for me-
remove the strings, then cut it into pieces. So if they do get any
strings, at least they won’t be dangerously long. Of course, they
all love the leaves at the top – can you believe you can buy it at
  the store without the tops?!!

Kay – You must video tape your piggies’ training runs! How clever
of Oscar to have worked out such an original routine! Some do
seem prone to climbing, don’t they? We have a mischieveous little
girl who loves to climb everywhere – last night I found her up on
the next level, visiting through the cage bars with a boy piggie!!
Sissy and Rosaroni are such little rascals, always wanting to get
out and play with the boys, I call them ‘tompigs’!

Dana- Do you know any particulars on these pigs? Were they just bred
as pets, any particular breeds, etc? Just wondering if any of those who
show at the cavy shows might be able to help. There are other gp websites,
too, who can help spread the word. Can you get someone to help you to
put on a special Cavy Fair or Piggie Workshop? Get some good PR and
educate the public, maybe find homes for some that way. Plus, maybe
contact some schools, see if any teachers would set up classroom piggie
projects. And of course, they should go in pairs so they aren’t lonesome.
I’ll spread the word from here – who do we contact?

Jaime- Come on, don’t let it get you down. There was some victory in the
whole thing in the publicity it brought. The guy has been portrayed as an
abuser, and the piggies have gotten some good press. Don’t give up now!
You are right where you are supposed to be! Of course we all get down
sometimes – just take a deep breath and keep it up! We are with you!

Janneke – That has to be good news, for the most part, on Yaya! Give that
girl a big hug for us. Perhaps you will find some natural treatment to help
her so she doesn’t have to have antibiotics.

  Hugs!

   - more later!)
